Be Money Smart USA

Pathways for Veterans is proud to partner with BeMoneySmartUSA. This partnership brings the services and expertise of Don and Marie Hall to the local veteran community as well as information on the programs available through Pathways for Veterans. Through our combined efforts, we provide support to veterans and their families as they create a new life after military service.

BeMoneySmartUSA was founded by Don and Marie Hall in Carmichael in 2008. The organization has been created in response to the need to provide this vital education to young people and schools, agencies, youth organizations, and business entities that wish to provide real-world, hands-on, relevant financial, business, and entrepreneurship education programs that foster the future economic well-being of students from all social and ethnic backgrounds and in an effort to provide good-will and community contribution from youth to give back and instill collaborative partnerships and positive relationships with their local businesses and service agencies. It is our desire to help our youth think laterally and globally but to act locally to make a difference in their own communities by becoming purposeful leaders and role models for positive change and improvement.

It is hoped that our efforts can be substantially enhanced through grants and the goodwill of business, institutions, and individuals who recognize the crucial importance of effective financial literacy, business, and entrepreneurship education for this generation.

Don_Marie_HallDon Hall, CFO of BeMoneySmartUSA has 22 years in real estate finance; business management; is the owner/operator of California Central Corporation, a real estate mortgage finance and property management for residential/commercial company, since 1991; and is on the board of directors of several non-profit service groups to include the Optimist Club, Kiwanis, Carmichael Chamber of Commerce, and BeMoneySmartUSA.

Marie V. Hall, CEO & Executive Director of BeMoneySmartUSA has 20+ years of experience in business management, sales, and marketing, real estate finance, and mortgage co-owner of California Central Corporation; 15+ years as classroom teacher for elementary, middle, high, and college level courses in San Juan School District and private schools; and is on the board of directors for several non-profit organizations to include St. John Women and Children’s Shelter, Sr. Optimist Club, Kiwanis, and BeMoneySmartUSA.

BeMoneySmartUSA Farmers Markets are set up to be a “teaching business” that also provides a community event venue for the public and to provide support to local California farmers. These certified farmers markets operate under our collaborative business model that we refer to as our win/win reciprocal approach. We support the farmers/vendors by offering them a well-organized positive venue with free marketing to sell their produce/goods, while providing the community with healthy alternatives and a variety of produce/products they can purchase in an environment that promotes family activities that include live music, balloon twisters, and face-painting along with cooking demonstrations, healthy lifestyle mini-seminars, gardening tips and tricks, and more. These programs provide the public with great information and fun while also supporting and marketing the farmers’ produce and vendor products. The youth who work at the markets benefit by having the opportunity to earn a wage and learn to develop their skills and make an income while on the job. Finally, the markets promote and support local businesses by increasing traffic flow in local shopping centers and establishing a higher visibility for their business.
