Grand Opening Fall 2017
President/ Vice Executive Director
Chris Jones is the Executive Director of the Pathways for Veterans Research Center within Synergy Float Center in Alexandria, Virginia. Local veterans can now find relief from the symptoms of anxiety, stress and insomnia. Since 1986, these symptoms have been considered a contributing factor in the larger diagnosis of PTSD. Synergy Float Center will offer a variety of healing modalities to support overall emotional well being of veterans and others, including RestStation™ Lounge therapy and flotation.
Synergy Float Center
Synergy Float Center is owned and operated by a brother and sister team of Chris and Stephanie Jones. Chris is a disabled veteran that served as an officer for over 24 years in the Army, Air Force, and Navy. A long time resident of Old Town Alexandria, he traveled to Peru, after he retired from his military career looking to reconnect and try to help determine what he should do next. Flotation therapy was revealed to him on this trip, and shortly after his return home, he began researching floating. Surprised that there was not a flotation center in Alexandria, he bought a Zen float tent, and set it up in is home. He floats at least 4 times a week, and floating has changed his life. Because of all the positive things it has done for him, he realized that he needed to open a float center in Old Town Alexandria to help bring it to others. Stephanie, his sister, is also an Old Town Alexandria resident, who has over twenty years within the health care industry. She saw what floating did for her brother and realized she also wanted to help bring floating to others. Chris and Stephanie really appreciate the physical and mental benefits of flotation, and are excited to bring this unique experience to Alexandria. We truly believe we are doing our part to help make the world a better place one float at a time.
Research has shown that regular use of the float pod can help health problems that are caused or exacerbated by chronic stress such as fibromyalgia, insomnia, hypertension, anxiety disorders, and migraines. By invoking the relaxation response blood flow increases to all parts and systems of the body, including the brain, creating a whole body healing effect. Floating also provides relief from the constant downward push of gravity, the single greatest cause of wear and tear to bones, joints and body tissue. The zero gravity affect also provides relief from discomfort during pregnancy.
Veteran Research Studies
We are looking for a group of veterans who are willing to fully participate in an 8-week research study using the latest and most advanced alternative healing modalities at Synergy Float Center. Your participation and results have the potential to positively impact tens of thousands of veterans. The purpose of these research trials are to provide Pathways for Veterans and Synergy Float Center real time Intel regarding the benefits of flotation and RestStation™ therapy in reducing anxiety, stress and insomnia. These symptoms are considered to be underlying causes of the larger diagnosis commonly known as PTSD. We are reaching out to Alexandria, Virginia area veterans, who currently receive their VA medical benefits, for their opinion and recommendations based on their own flotation and RestStation™ experiences. If you are a veteran and are interested in participating in an 8-Week research study, fill out the preregistration form below and a member of our staff will get in touch with you shortly.
